Encik Nik Mustapha Bin Nik Mohamed was appointed to the Board on 21 October 2022 as the Independent Non-Executive Director at IIUM Holdings Sdn Bhd. He presently holds the position of General Manager of Professional Golf of Malaysia. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of HeiTech Padu Berhad and holds a Vice-President position at the Malaysian Employers Federation. He is also a member of the Joint Technical Committee of TVET.
Encik Nik Mustapha has an extensive background, having served on the boards of several notable companies including NCB Holdings Berhad, Hap Seng Berhad, Unilever Malaysia, Dumex Malaysia, ICI Malaysia, BHP Steel Malaysia, Heveafil Sdn. Bhd., Delima Oil Products Sdn. Bhd., Prodata Sdn. Bhd., and Nilai Education Sdn. Bhd.
His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, USA, a Diploma in Education from University Kebangsaan Malaysia, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Cranfield University, United Kingdom. He has also attended executive education programmes at Columbia University, Cornell, Penn State, Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD), Ashridge, and the Asian Institute of Management.
With over 35 years of experience in the field of human resources, Encik Nik Mustapha held the role of Chief Human Resources and Corporate Services Officer at FGV Berhad. Prior to this, he served as the Human Resource and Corporate Relations Director for Unilever Malaysia and Singapore from 2000 to 2011. He also worked at Permodalan Nasional Berhad as the General Manager of the Human Resource and Corporate Affairs Division and previously held positions at Sterling Drugs in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the USA from 1987 to 1995. He commenced his career in human resources and organisational development with Rank Xerox Limited, Malaysia, in 1984.
Encik Nik Mustapha initiated his career as a Research Assistant at Northern Illinois University, USA, in 1978. Subsequently, after completing his graduate studies, he transitioned into teaching at Maktab Rendah Sains Mara, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan, in 1981.
