Puan Nuraini Binti Ismail was appointed to the Board on 20 August 2021 as the Independent Non-Executive Director at IIUM Holdings Sdn Bhd. She is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the United Kingdom, a board member for GDEX Malaysia since 1 January 2022 and also for Bank Islam since 7 January 2022.

Puan Nuraini’s extensive industry expertise spans various sectors, encompassing oil & gas, petrochemicals, trading & marketing, education, audit, treasury, debt capital markets, corporate finance, investment, and commercial banking.

Her professional journey commenced at Petronas in September 1992, where she served until her retirement in May 2021. During her tenure, she held several prominent positions, including General Manager of Finance & Accounts Services, General Manager of Commercial Services at the Malaysian International Trading Corporation (a Petronas subsidiary), Senior General Manager of Group Treasury at Petronas, and Vice President of Treasury.

Notably, Puan Nuraini had served as Vice President of Treasury at Petronas for an impressive 11 years. Her role encompassed managing Petronas Holding Company and Petronas Group Funds, overseeing Debts, Liquidity, and Corporate Finance functions, including Debt raising, Debt Structuring and Restructuring, Project Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Due Diligence, and managing Petronas Credit Ratings. She was also responsible for steering Petronas Global Treasury Centre and In-House Bank, which encompassed over 200 companies.

In her illustrious career at Petronas, Puan Nuraini sat on numerous boards within the Petronas Group since 2005, totaling more than 15 boards. Notably, she served for a decade on the board of Petronas Dagangan Berhad and was a member of the Board Audit Committee. Additionally, she held key positions as the Secretary-General of Yayasan University Technology Petronas, Secretary of the National Trust Fund, and Petronas Leading Woman Network Champion for Corporate.

Puan Nuraini also served as a Petronas Finance Skill Group Advisor, where she played a pivotal role in developing the capabilities of finance personnel Groupwide. She was instrumental in driving the Petronas Chartered Accountancy Programme.

Prior to her tenure at Petronas, Puan Nuraini contributed her expertise to various other organisations, including Azman, Wong & Salleh, Bumiputera Merchant Bankers, Bank Bumiputera, and Maybank Finance.
