Market expansion has been one of the main cores in IIUM Consultancy and Innovation (ICI) business philosophy. This market expansion strategy can be manifested by collaborating with strategic partners that has strong business background and track records.
Earlier in March, ICI lead by Encik Azraei; Acting Chief Executive Officer and his entourage had a meeting with the al-Hidayah Group for a collaborative programme. Based in Wangsa Maju, the al-Hidayah Group (AHG) is a company that has a strong portfolio in construction, property development, information technology, Turnkey education provider and Islamic finance & corporate advisory.
The meeting was chaired by Tan Sri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob; Chairman and Board of Trustee for D-8 Malaysia Foundation, and helped by Mr. Baharin Ayob; the Group President and Founder of D-8 Foundation Malaysia and attended by Mr. Zahari Abu Yazid as the CEO of D-8 Malaysia Foundation and other top management staffs.
The main objective of the meeting was to introduce the Islamic Gift Economy Initiatives and how it could benefit the D-8 countries. The Islamic Gift Economy is circling on the strategic planning by the D-8 organization for Economic Cooperation which has economic collaboration among eight countries. The D-8 is also known as Developing-8; an organization which acts as catalyst among 8 countries which are Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkiye.
The Islamic Gift Economy will be a collaborative programme among three Malaysian universities, including IIUM through ICISB and the al-Hidayah Group and the initiatives envision to upskill the manpower and improve the economics of the said countries. AHG believes the IIUM expertise in Islamic economy and digital marketing, and will be a strong arsenal in promoting the initiatives in future.
