Orthopaedics Symposium: IMSC Shares Medical Expertise with General Practitioners

KUANTAN – IIUM Medical Specialist Centre (IMSC), recently organised the Orthopaedics Symposium for General Practitioners (GP) at Sri Manja Boutique Hotel, Kuantan. Held on Saturday, 14 February 2026, the event served as a platform for medical experts to share the latest updates and best practices in patient care with the local medical community.
The primary goal of this Orthopaedics Symposium was to provide general practitioners with valuable insights into managing bone and joint related cases more effectively. By bridging the gap between specialists and primary care doctors, IMSC aims to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate treatment from their first point of contact. This initiative is part of the centre’s ongoing commitment to medical education and clinical excellence.
The session featured four prominent speakers from IMSC who are leaders in their respective fields:
- Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Hafiz bin Zulkifly, an expert in Joint Replacement Arthroplasty.
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Haidar bin Nasuruddin, a skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon.
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ardilla Hanim binti Abdul Razak, specializing in Paediatric Orthopaedics.
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khairul Nizam bin Siron @ Baharom, focusing on Shoulder and Elbow surgery.
