IKOP Pharma Welcomes UniSZA Students for Industrial Training

12 April 2025 – A group of 37 students from the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) recently completed a 19-day industrial training programme at IKOP Pharma’s Research and Development (R&D) Department, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

The programme provided the students with direct exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, and operational processes, aligning with UniSZA’s commitment to producing industry-ready pharmacy graduates. Over nearly three weeks, participants were immersed in real-world pharmaceutical practices, deepening their understanding of the rigorous standards and procedures required in the production of high-quality medicinal products.

IKOP Pharma, a leading name in Malaysia’s halal pharmaceutical sector, offered a dynamic environment for the students to apply their academic knowledge to industry-relevant contexts. The structured training not only allowed students to enhance their technical competencies but also honed essential soft skills such as teamwork, time management, and professional communication.

Through this initiative, UniSZA strengthens its academic-industry linkage, ensuring that its pharmacy curriculum remains closely aligned with evolving industry standards. Industrial training modules like these are integral in bridging the gap between theory and practice, enabling students to adapt more quickly to professional settings upon graduation.

UniSZA expressed pride in the students’ dedication and professionalism throughout the programme. The university also extended its appreciation to IKOP Pharma for its continued collaboration in supporting the next generation of pharmacy professionals.
