11 April 2025 – Prime Minister YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made a significant connection with youth through the “Meet Anwar@IIUM” program, hosted at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Cultural Centre (ICC). The event, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education (Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, KPT), aimed to promote critical thinking and civic awareness among young Malaysians.
Over 100 students and staff from International Islamic College (IIC), a member institution under the IIUM Holdings Group, participated in the event. The Prime Minister’s presence marked a highlight in the series of nationwide engagements focused on empowering youth with the tools to evaluate information and contribute meaningfully to society.
The dialogue session provided students with the opportunity to engage directly with the Prime Minister on matters such as leadership, media literacy, and the broader challenges of nation-building. PM Anwar, known for his long-standing commitment to education and youth empowerment, addressed questions candidly and encouraged students to become agents of integrity, wisdom, and national unity.
Also in attendance were Dato’ Ahmad Nadzarudin bin Abdul Razak, Group Managing Director/CEO of IIUM Holdings Sdn. Bhd., and Encik Shaik Faridhudheen Anverdeen, Chief Executive Officer of IIC. Senior representatives from both IIUM Holdings and IIC were present, reflecting the Group’s continued commitment to holistic education and civic engagement.
The “Meet Anwar@IIUM” initiative is part of a broader national strategy to strengthen youth participation in democratic discourse, especially in an age of information saturation. Through such platforms, the government aims to bridge generational divides and nurture a future generation that is not only informed but also courageous in upholding truth and justice.
The event concluded on a high note with calls for more interactive, open dialogues between leaders and youth, fostering mutual understanding and long-term national development.
