14 March 2025 – IKOP Sdn Bhd (IKOP Pharma) marked a significant milestone in February 2025 as it welcomed its first batch of Indonesian pharmaceutical students under its 2025 Industrial Training Program. The initiative brought together aspiring pharmacists from four respected institutions in Indonesia: Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA), Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP), Universitas Wahid Hasyim (UNWAHAS), and Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS).
The comprehensive program is designed to immerse students in the dynamic environment of the pharmaceutical industry, with direct exposure to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)-certified manufacturing facilities. Throughout the training, participants will rotate through various departments, offering them valuable hands-on learning opportunities and practical insights into the pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
By observing real-world operations within a certified pharmaceutical setting, the students are expected to gain a clearer understanding of the critical procedures required to meet global pharmaceutical standards. This includes exposure to stringent quality control practices, production flows, and adherence to internationally recognised protocols.
As a Malaysian pharmaceutical company committed to upholding the highest standards in quality and shari’ah compliance, IKOP continues to position itself as a nurturing ground for future professionals in the industry, while also strengthening academic-industry collaboration on a regional scale.
This training program not only supports capacity building among young pharmacy students but also underscores IKOP’s commitment to investing in knowledge exchange and skills development across borders.
While exact figures and duration of the program remain undisclosed, the initiative is a promising step in encouraging international engagement and developing pharmaceutical talent across Southeast Asia.
