Kuala Lumpur, 6 January 2026 – In an effort to strengthen a conducive and cheerful working environment, IIUM Holdings Group of Companies (IIUMH) today carried out an assessment session for the Inter-Departmental 5S Competition held at the Head Office.
This initiative, organised by the Group Human Resource Division (Group HR), aims to foster a culture of organisation and cleanliness through the active involvement of all staff. The assessment was carried out comprehensively by appointed 5S representatives from each department to ensure operational excellence standards are upheld.
Main Assessment Focus: Throughout the visit to each station, the assessors focused on five main criteria:
- Workplace Organisation: The effectiveness of Sort and Set in Order practices.
- Tool Management: Systematic arrangement of office equipment and materials.
- Cleanliness: Ensuring the workplace consistently practises Shine.
- Standardisation: Clear documentation of work procedures.
- Sustain: Ongoing staff involvement and commitment in practising the 5S culture.
Beyond aiming to boost productivity, this activity also serves as a medium for HQ staff to work together in a harmonious atmosphere filled with a sense of family spirit. Feedback from this assessment session will serve as a guide for continuous improvement in the future.
